The farm practice was conducted at the Poultry Project of Don Severino Agricultural College, Indang, Cavite from September 18 to November 11 1990 to know the different activities involved in managing the project, to determine the cost of producing a kilogram of broiler and to gain knowledge and practical skills in managing a broiler project. A total of 300 day old chicks was used in the project Chicks were housed in an electric brooder for four weeks. Birds were fed Ad Libitum with commercial feeds throughout
the cycle. Fresh and clean drinking water was made available at all times. Strict hygiene and sanitation was properly observed to prevent the occurrence of dreadful diseases. The project gave a net return of p2,424.10 for 294 heads of broiler with a total body weight of 466.67 kilograms at seven weeks. This was realized after deducting the total amount of expenses from the total sales of broilers. Birds cdn umed a total of 1,150 kilograms of feeds giving a 2.4 kilograms efficiency rate. Broiler performance under DSAC Poultry Project Condition is good enough especially if efficient management practices are employed.
