The project entitled "Production of Pole Snap Beans Intercropped with C(kra" was conducted at Barangay Sinaliw Malaki, Alfonso, Cavite from AUgust to October, 1991. The project aimed to develop the skill of the student in managing a small agricultural farm, and put into actual practice the theoretical knowledge on basic concepts in crop production especially in intercropping. an area of 4,000 square meters was used for the project. Good quality seeds of Kentucky snap beans and smooth green okra were used in this project. Bean and okra seeds were planted 50 centimeters between hills and 75 centimeters between rows. Germination of beans took place four to six days after planting and for okra, five to ten days after planting.

Thinning was employed to allow satisfactory growth of the plants. Trellises were provided as soon as the bean plants started to grow by placing madre de cacao stem near each jndividual plant. weeding and cultivation of the area were done a month after planting and repeated three weeks thereafter. Complete fertilizer was applied at the rate of 430 kilograms per hectare, half of the amount was applied at planting time and the remaining was addressed one month after Planting.

Bean pods were initially harvested 65 days from the planting time while okra fruits were harvested 7/0 days after planting. For beans, a total of 225 kilos was produced and sold at #20.00 per kilo. This gave a total income of 4,500.00. The total yield of okra was 500 kilos which was sold at £3.00 per kilo, giving an income of #1,500.00

The net income derived from both crops was $2,991.62 giving a return of investment of 99.44%.
