The study was conducted to find out the influence of parental attachment and reliance on decision making of selected senior high school students in public science high schools in Cavite. Specifically; the study aimed to identify the following: (1) identify the level of parental attachment of selected senior high school students: (2) the level of parental reliance of selected senior high school students; (3) the decision making skills of selected senior high school students in term of self — confidence, career choices, and vigilance, (4) significant relationships among level of parental attachment and level of parental reliance, level of parental attachment and decision making skills, and level of parental reliance and decision making skills.

The researchers used the descriptive correlational design to determine the relationship of each variable. The number of participants were 191 senior high school students, specifically, 65 senior high school students from Cavite National Science High School, 69 senior high school students from Tagaytay City National Science High School and 30 senior high school students from Cavite State University — Science High School, Indang. The participants were randomly chosen.

Based on the results, majority of selected senior high school students received preat comfort, care, and support from their parents. Most of them consulted their parents on what they will do in the future and sought for help and advice for them to have sound decision making. Parental influence provided great impact on the participant’s life.
