The development of online student information system for Cavite State University Science High School, was conducted to provide an online information system for the faculty members and students of the school.
The system is consist of five (5) modules: account management module, student information module, student's grade module, teacher's information module and report module. Account Management module is used for user to be able access the system. The users need to log in using their username and password, after that, they will have access to the system which depends on the level of their access. It has only five levels of access, the system administrator, admin clerk, principal, teachers and students. Student information module provides all the needed information about the students, it is also where the admin clerk can input and edit the student's information and other allowed users to view the information of the students. Students Grade Module is where the teachers can input the grades of their student on the specific subject. Teacher’s information module provides all the needed information about the teachers which includes their profile, class schedule and subjects.
The methodology used by the researcher was the Iterative Development Process Model which allows for the identification and correction of defects during the early stages, to avoid downward flow into further processes. It consists of five phases: requirements, analysis and design, implementation, testing and evaluation phase and deployment phase. Twenty-five respondents participated in the evaluation of the system. The respondents are composed of 10 IT experts and 15 faculty members of Cavite State University Science High School. They evaluated the software based on its functionality, reliability, usability, efficiency, maintainability, portability and user-friendliness. The results were tabulated, analyzed, and statistically treated using mean and standard deviation.
