The study was conducted to determine the level of awareness and knowledge of selected students of the Cavite State University of Indang, Cavite on Intellectual Property Code of the Philippines and the relationship between these variables. Specifically, it determined their level of awareness and level of knowledge in terms of: general provision, copyright, patent, and trademark.

This study was limited to the works, arts, inventions, and other intellectual properties. The participants of this study were students enrolled in various programs requiring undergraduate thesis specifically graduating students as well as students whose courses are subject to having an invention or original work that may result to having one’s work licensed.

This study used the descriptive quantitative research. Validated survey questionnaires were distributed to 370 students who were selected through the purposive sampling technique.

The study found out that majority of the participants were slightly aware and moderately knowledgeable of the IP Code. Moreover, the study revealed a significant
relationship between the participants’ awareness level and knowledge on IP Code of the Philippines.

With this finding, it is recommended that the university takes extra effort to provide
activities that may increase the knowledge of the students, faculty, and staff on the
Intellectual Property Code of the Philippines. This would be made possible through
conduct of seminar, symposia, workshops, preparation and display of promotional
materials on the Intellectual Property Code of the Philippines.
