DUCHA, FRANCHESKA D., ESPINOSA AHLIEZLE ANGELA V., LOYOLA, LENA BERNALENE M. Production of soap from Litiit Leaves Extract. Research Study. Laboratory Science High School. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. May 2019. Adviser: Dr. Hosea L. Matel.
This study was conducted from November 2018 to February 2019 at Cavite State University Research Center. Specifically, the study aimed to: (1). determine the inhibitory activity of the soap with litlit leaves extract against Bacillus subtilis, and Escherichia coli, (2). determine its physical characteristics in terms of color, odor, texture, and hardness, and (3). determine the general acceptability of the produced soap in terms of its physical characteristics. Experimental research was used with the following treatments for the prepared soap: Tl (4.7% litlit extract), T2 (9% litlit extract), and T3 (16.7% litlit extract). Collection of leaves, making of soap, testing the inhibitory activity of the product against the said bacteria, and evaluation of the physical properties and general acceptability of the soap by the respondents were done. The inhibitory activity of the soap against Bacillus subtilis shows highly significant difference among treatment means. This indicates that the amount of litlit leaves affect the bacterial growth. On the other hand, the inhibitory activity of the soap against Escherichia coli shows no significant difference.regards to its color, odor, and texture, T3 with its hardness, and Tl for the general acceptability of the soap.
