ALCALA, NEIL EDWARD S., CEREZO, MARC ELVIN D., AND CULVERA, RYAN JAY 0., Health Care: An Android Based Expert System for Common Diseases. Undergraduate Thesis Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. June 2019. Adviser: Ms. Ria Clarisse L. Mojica.
The study that was conducted from May 2018 to June 2019 was done to aid people in assessing his or her likeliness of having some common diseases such as: pneumonia, common cold, influenza, asthma, hypertension, and diabetes with its complications through assessment of symptoms through an Android application. The application also provides information about the said common diseases, and recommended remedies to prevent or reduce the likeliness of having these kinds of diseases.
The researchers used iterative development as a guideline on the development of the mobile application. Python, Android Studio, and Firebase were used to build the app, and a module called pyknon was used as an algorithm for the implementation of the expert system. 45 participants were given software evaluation to evaluate the system based on its functionality, reliability, usability, portability, maintainability, efficiency, and helpfulness.
The overall mean for obtained from the evaluation was 4.65 which is Excellent. This implies that the study has met the expected features of the intended users, as well as the approval of the technical specialists.
