The study, "Utilization of Cucharita (Alternanthera versicolor) as Feed Supplement for Broilers" which aimed to determine the potential, of CuCharita as feedstuff, was conducted at the BSAC Poultry. Project from November 1989 to January 1990. Birds were distributed into four treatments. Each treatment was replicated three times with five birds per treatment. Finely Chopped: fresh 011charita leaves and stems were supplemented at 5, 10, and 15% levels (Treatments II, III, and IV) during the growing and finishing stage of the birds. Insignificant differences were observed between treatment means on body weight, feed consumption and feed efficiency. Average mortality rate of 6.66% was observed in Treatments III and IV (with 10% and 15% Cucharita) due to infectious coryza, brought about by poor environmental condition. Best pigmentation was exhibited by birds with 15% Cucharita on its ration. Treatment II (with 5% level of Cucharita) gave the highest net income.
