The result of the study shows that flood was the leading natural disaster in the Republic of the Philippines and Japan due to numerous typhoons entering both countries every year. However, there were more reported flood events in the Republic of the Philippines from 2011 to 2017. But, the typhoon was still the primary disaster in the country with an average of twenty typhoons entering the Philippine Area of Responsibility every year. The total number of casualties by flood disasters from 2011 to 2017 in the Republic of the Philippines was also higher than Japan.
