Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. June 2022 with Contribution No. CON-BSMT-2022-27. Adviser: John Jeron B Datoy, RMT. Acknowledging the limited information published on the Knowledge, Attitudes and Preventive Practices (KAPs) on Human Immunodeficiency Virus/Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (HIV/AIDS) of college students even before the emergence of the COVID 19 pandemic, the researchers utilized quantitative research, specifically a descriptive and a correlational research design in conducting a study on 377 college students who have satisfactorily met the inclusion criteria from the nine colleges in Cavite State University (CvSU) Main Campus were selected using the Proportionate Stratified Random Sampling and conducted from January 2021 to June 2022, to evaluate the KAPS on HIV/AIDS of college students in CvSU-Main Campus. To address the main problem, the researchers specifically focused on determining: (1) the demographic profile of college students in CvSU-Main Campus; (2) the level of knowledge of college students in CvSU-Main Campus regarding HIV/AIDS; (3) the attitudes of college students in CvSU-Main Campus towards HIV/AIDS; (4) the preventive practices of college students in CvSU-Main Campus regarding HIV/AIDS; (5) the significant relationship between the level of knowledge of college students in CvSU-Main-Campus regarding HIV/AIDS and their (a) attitudes, and (b) preventive practices; (6) the significant relationship between the attitudes of college students in CvSU-Main Campus towards HIV/AIDS and their preventive practices regarding the disease; (7) the significant relationship between the demographic profile of college students in CvSU-Main Campus and their level of knowledge regarding HIV/AIDS; (8) the significant relationship between the demographic profile of college students in CvSU-Main Campus and their attitudes towards HIV/AIDS; (9) the significant relationship between the demographic profile of college students in CvSU-Main Campus and their preventive practices regarding HIV/AIDS; and (10) if age, sex, year level, college, civil status, and monthly family income are considered significant predictors of KAPs on HIV/AIDS of college students in CvSU-Main Campus. The administration of the survey questionnaire was accomplished through the utilization of Google Forms while adhering to ethical principles. Based on the results of the study, the demographic profile of the college students in CvSU-Main Campus as to age, sex, year level, college, civil status, and monthly family income was identified. The findings of the study showed the following: (1) the respondents were considered knowledgeable on HIV/AIDS; (2) the respondents had very positive attitudes on HIV/AIDS; (3) the respondents had very good preventive practices on HIV/AIDS; (4) there was no significant relationship between the level of knowledge of college students in CvSU-Main Campus regarding HIV/AIDS and their attitudes towards the disease; on the other hand, there was a significant relationship between the level of knowledge of college students in CvSU-Main Campus regarding HIV/AIDS and their preventive practices regarding the disease; (5) there was a significant relationship between the attitudes of college students in CvSU-Main Campus towards HIV/AIDS and their preventive practices regarding the disease; (6) there was no significant relationship between the demographic profile of college students in CvSU-Main Campus and their level of knowledge regarding HIV/AIDS; (7) there was no significant relationship between the demographic profile of college students in CvSU-Main Campus in terms of age, sex, year level, college, and civil status, and their attitudes towards HIV/AIDS; however, there was a significant relationship between the demographic profile of college students in CvSU-Main Campus in terms of monthly family income, and their attitudes towards HIV/AIDS; (8) there was no significant relationship between the demographic profile of college students in CvSU-Main Campus in terms of age, sex, year level, and civil status, and their preventive practices regarding HIV/AIDS; on the contrary, there was a significant relationship between the demographic profile of college students in CvSU-Main Campus in terms of college and monthly family income, and their preventive practices regarding HIV/AIDS; and (9) the age,
sex, year level, college, civil status, and monthly family income were not considered significant predictors of KAPs on HIV/AIDS of college students in CvSU-Main Campus; however, a monthly family income of below P10,957, was considered a significant predictor of KAPS of college students in CvSU- Main Campus regarding HIV/AIDS.
