IAN JETROD N. ALANO, ALLIANA C. BONTOGON and RHIANNA KRISTINE T. RAMOS. A Policy Analysis on Bacoor City's Child Development and Protection Code of 2016 in the Context of New Normal. Undergraduate thesis. Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. May 2022. Adviser: Ria Anne Rozul.

The research paper aims to analyze the existing ordinance in the city of Bacoor namely, Child development and protection code of 2016 in the context of new normal. The study also investigated the relationship between child-rearing experience and their social status. Furthermore, the analysis revealed the drawbacks and benefits of Child Development and Protection code in the context of new normal. The pandemic has brought ruin and exposed the ills of society that left our children at their most vulnerable state. The Internet became an ally that helped us stay connected with our loved ones, but also became a platform that targets unsuspecting children. In relation, the study is focused on the implementation of the city ordinance during the lockdown, and chose local government officials, children accompanied by their parents as respondents. The research further aimed to identify if the Child Protection and Development Code covered all the assistance a child residing in the City of Bacoor may need. To gather the needed data, the researchers prepared semi- structured interviews for all the interviewees. All the questions posed in the interview were consented to and were asked about the experience of children in Bacoor and their knowledge about the Child Protection and Development Code. According to the results, the Internet remains an uncharted territory as there were no boundaries implemented for the safety of the children. Although local government officials tried to be flexible on these issues, their resources weren't enough, and the strict lockdown delayed their assistance. Furthermore, the parents were unaware of what abuses their children can be exposed to due to lack of knowledge and experience.
