ANENGYAO, JEMCY DANES, BADEL, MARJORIE C., JUSAY, HANNA ISABEL Y., LAZATIN, CARL P., and NAKAMURA MA. RICA E. Land Capability Assessment in Bacoor Watershed, Cavite, Philippines. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. June 2022. Adviser: For. Junser P. Magpantay.

The study was conducted from April 2022 to June 2022 within the boundary of Bacoor Watershed covering the municipalities and cities of Bacoor and Imus, to determine the watershed's land capability. The political boundary of Bacoor watershed was delineated through the validated boundary and LANDSAT 2020 was used for the land use map. The land uses in the watershed are composed of built-up areas (69.44%), vegetation (20.46%), and water body (10.10%). The different soil types are Guadalupe clay, Guadalupe clay adobe, Guadalupe silt loam, and Hydrosol. Soil pH ranges from 5.98-7.73 (slightly acidic to slightly alkaline). Total nitrogen ranges from 0.688-6.430 percent, available phosphorus ranges from 7-128 ppm, and exchangeable potassium ranges from 119-769 ppm. Organic matter varies from 0.688-6.430 percent (very low to high). Bacoor watershed has very high levels of exchangeable Ca (21.445 cmol/kg to 32.065 cmol/kg), exchangeable Mg ranges from high to very high (4.084 cmol/kg to 10.938 cmol/kg) and exchangeable Na have high to very high amounts (0.231 cmol/kg to 5.634 cmol/kg). Exchangeable K ranges from medium to very high (0.304 cmol/kg to 1.968 cmol/kg). Bulk density varies from 0.97-1.41 g/cm3 and moisture content varies from low to medium levels (7.56-12.48 percent). The soil textures are clay, loam, clay loam, sandy clay loam, and sandy loam. Permeability ranged from medium to high and porosity ranged from 46.79-63.40 percent. Soil depth was classified as deep based on soil profile. Bacoor Watershed's land capability are Class A and Class B. Its limiting factor is the slight to moderate soil erosion. This watershed is capable of cultivation based on its slope percentage. The crops and fruit trees recommended are banana, coconut, mango, potato, soybean, bean, pepper, rice, mustard, and rice.
