Coffee drinker athletes may be upgrading themselves more than they realize before an exercise or competition. Caffeine is the most widely used substance in the world and is categorized as a stimulant. Caffeine provides effects similar to amphetamines and cocaine, but to a lesser extent. It has the ability to have physiological impacts on the central nervous system and peripheral tissues. Studies have shown that coffee improves performance in a variety of different activities. (Gaudet, 2010) This study was conducted to determine the effects of coffee drinker athletes in their performance at Cavite State University-Main Campus Indang, Cavite. Specifically, this study was designed to: (1) describe the demographic characteristics of the participants such as age, sex, sports event, and playing year; (2) identify the effects of coffee in terms of mental, physical, and emotional; (3) determine the effects of coffee in the level of sports performance; and lastly (4) to determine the significant relationship between the effects of coffee and their level of sports performance of the student-athlete. Results showed that the numbers of female respondents are not equal to the male respondents since the female respondents are 50 while male respondents are 49. In addition, most of the respondents fall on the age 21 years old since they are all ball games like of sport and had four years of playing. As for the effects of coffee on student-athletes, indicator "Coffee keeps my body warm", was remarked by the respondents as "often". However, the other response in the item, "Coffee helps me to lose weight and physically fit" was marked by respondents as "sometimes". As regard to effects of coffee on the level of sports performance to the student- athletes marked the indicator "Drinking coffee increases my adrenaline which improves my skill proficiency", as "often". In addition, the relationship between the effects of coffee and the level of sports performance of the student-athletes was found to be highly significantly correlated.
