The study was conducted to have an Online Computer Aided Instruction in Environmental Science Using Multimedia. Specifically, it was developed to ease the discussion on basic concepts and principles of ecology and environmental science. Also.
to design a supplementary online educational tool for Bachelor of Science in Ci\il Engineering, Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering and Bachelor of Science in Electronics and Communications Engineering students and to have a new and alternative way of teaching not only for the students to acquire knowledge and information but also to help the instructors. The study also aimed to lessen the time consumed in preparing visual aids in presenting lessons. To consolidate the contents of different books and other references in one reading aid and to provide an interesting method of teaching through the use of multimedia to encourage learners to study the subject matter. The study has an evaluation exam to determine the learning capability of the user.
Hypertext Preprocessor (PHP) was used as the programming language in developing the software for its capability to create an interactive web page and it also provides accessing database on the web. My Structured Query Language (MySQL) was used as database, which was best utilized during the course of software development. Microsoft Macromedia Flash and Microsoft Macromedia Dreamweaver was integrated as an integral part of the software's high-level graphic capability presentation. Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0, Java Script and Hypertext Markup Language were also used.
