Specifically, the study aimed to: describe the demographic, socio-economic, and psychological characteristics of Barangay Captains in selected municipalities of District 7, Cavite, ascertain the respondents, determine the relationship between demographic, socio-economic and psychological characteristics and level of their performance.

Results of the study showed that the majority of the Barangay Captains of Naic, Indang and Alfonso, District 7, Cavite were male. Most of them were married and high school graduates or reached college level. Many of the Barangay Captains became councilors before being elected in their current position.

That Barangay Captains had “very satisfactory” performance with their duties and responsibilities particularly in ensuring the delivery basic services as indicated by the computed weighted mean of 3.45 of all the activities performed by the respondents in their respective barangays. It only means that nearly every one of the Barangay Captains were certain about themselves that they are performing with satisfaction in fulfilling their duties.

The most common forms of support sought by the Barangay Captains from their barangay councilor were active participation in the programs of the barangays.

There were two forms of support the Barangay Captains have managed to solicit from their political allies, namely: in the form of projects/programs and the other is financial in nature.

Result of the study showed that from among the characteristics of the respondents, educational attainment was found related to their level of performance.
