MONZON, STEPHEN HERMEL PEL. Food safety Assessment among households in Cavite during COVID-19 Pandemic. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Food Technology, Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. February 2023. Adviser: Ms. Anna Marie M. Marasigan.
Food safety refers to the procedures followed when handling, processing, and distributing food to make sure that there are no pollutants that could result in foodborne illnesses. Food safety is a crucial component of food production and handling since it guarantees that consumers' health and safety are safeguarded from any food-related problems. The whole food supply chain must work together to ensure food safety. This study's objective is to understand the various food safety protocols used by the various Cavite families during this pandemic through descriptive statistics. Its main emphasis is on the creation, testing, and assessment of research tools and methods. Interviews and questionnaires are two popular methods for gathering data. The participants in this study were a sample size of 100 respondents from the Cavite areas that were chosen. Data was gathered using survey questionnaires that were printed out and links to Google forms that were emailed to responders. The demographic profile, their general level of confidence, their knowledge of food safety, and their food safety practices throughout the pandemic were obtained. According to observation, the majority of household respondents had a fair understanding of fundamental food safety procedures.
