CARAMILLO, MARK JAMES G. and VELASCO JHOMAR D. Development of E- Learning System in Earth Science for Trece Martires City National High School. Project Design. Bachelor of Science in Information Technology. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. March 2013. Adviser: Ms. Charlotte B. Carandang.

The study was conducted to develop an e-learning system for Trece Martires City National High School that would serve as an additional tool to enhance the quality and learning process in Earth Science subjects. Specifically, it aimed to: identify the problem through interview and survey; analyze the problem using fishbone diagram; design an E-Learning System with the use of use case and class diagram; develop the system with the use of PHP as scripting language, XAMPP, Adobe Flash, and Photoshop that is educational and interactive; and evaluate the system through integration, acceptance, and unit testing.

The system provides functionality that allows teacher to manage all the records and information of the students, making it secure and easy to retrieve. The system capable of handling accounts of the administrator, teacher, and students of the organization. Furthermore, the system also provides reports.

The Iterative Development Model was used by the proponents as the development methodology. It consists of five (5) phases: planning, requirement, analysis and design, testing and evaluation phase.

The system underwent a series of testing and evaluation to ensure the accurateness and efficiency. Eighty five (85) students and fifteen (15) teachers evaluated the system to verify functionalities. The system was evaluated based on the given criteria: accuracy, information in the program, user interaction, and technical aspect. In accordance to the results of the software evaluation, large number of respondents rated the system “Outstanding” which shows that the objectives and requirements of the system were met.
