Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. June 2022. Adviser: Associate Prof. Nenita B. Panaligan RN. , MAN A needs assessment is a methodical procedure that evaluates the requirements that must be addressed to achieve an intended result. In research, the purpose of a needs assessment is to identify the gaps in terms of resources such as knowledge, skills, and manpower needed by an individual or a group's workforce to achieve their desired goals. An effective identification of needs assessment will help direct resources to areas of greatest demand. In addition, the assessment should address the resources needed to fulfill the research of different students in the College of Nursing. Moreover, this paper aims to identify the factors and how it hinders the students of college of nursing students in conducting research. This study utilized a quantitative descriptive design in conducting the study and descriptive statistics in data analysis. The objectives of this study are to know the (1) socio demographic profile of the respondents (2) to assess the level of knowledge of students in research (3) to assess the influence of perceived factors that influence the students to engage in research (4) to determine the research related needs of students in research. The participants of the study are the students at College of Nursing, specifically; BS Nursing, BS Medical Technology and Midwifery students in a total of 117 respondents. Moreover, this study has utilized virtual survey questionnaires in data gathering. Prior to data gathering, the questionnaire of this study underwent validation and pilot testing. The results of the study have shown that 82.1% of the total respondents are highly knowledgeable in research 79.5% strongly agree that Guidance of Research advisers influence them to engage in research and 99.1 % have answered that internet connection is highly needed for them to conduct research. Thus, these results have helped the researchers to come up with conclusions and recommend to the students of College of Nursing to engage more in research and to address their needs in the College of Nursing. In that way, more students can comply and will learn the essence of research in the curriculum. On the other hand, the researchers recommend that the College of Nursing must be aware of the factors that influence students to engage in research to know the areas of improvements and to address the needs of the students. Furthermore, having awareness of these results can guide the student efficiently and productively in accomplishing their research. Keywords: Needs Assessment, Research, student
