MATEL, HAROLD OWEN C., Applied Research IV (Agri-Science Curriculum), Don Severino Agricultural College, Indang, Cavite. “Performance of Different Strains of Silkworms Under Indang Condition”. Adviser: Prof. Edna A. Vida

This study was conducted at the Research Center of Don Severino Agricultural College, Indang, Cavite from April 22, 1982 to May 26, 1992 to identify the performance of the different strains of silkworms under Indang condition and determine which among the strains of silkworms is the best in the production of cocoon.

A total of 800 silkworms were distributed in a Complete Randomized Design with four treatments and four replications.

The different treatments of this study were: a > Tea - LBS.° x ne’; Ts - LBS. Ta - LBS.° x Nz x LBS=* ; and Ta - LBSa° x N= s

The results revealed that T= cups.? x LBs.%) was the best treatment regarding its adaptability to the Indang condition and in terms of production of cocoons. On the other hand, T: cps.” x x4 proved to be the highest in the hatchability although it was not significantly different from Treatment 3.
