The efficacy of pulverized dried seeds of ripe papaya (( 'Carica papaya) as a biological dewormer for quails (Coturnix colurnix) was tested and compared against the commercial dewormer Levamisole@ WSP. The most effective dosage of 'arica papaya seeds ( I I .5g, 2.0g, and 2.5g/bird) against roundworm (Ascaridia sp.), (( 'api//uria sp.) and tapeworms (Raillie(ina sp.) was also determined. The study was conducted in Barangay Banlic, Cabuyao, Laguna from January to February 2004. Laboratory tests were conducted at the Regional Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratory, Department of Agriculture at Barangay Maraouy, Lipa City. A total of 105 Japanese Taiwan quails were used. The birds were divided into five groups composed of five birds per group representing a control group 10% WSP) and four treatment groups. The fecalysis revealed that only the ova of Ascaridia galli were present in the birds. Statistical method used was simple CRD (Completely Randomized Design). The analysis of variance of the pre-treatment count of Ascaridia galli ova revealed insignificant among the means of the treatments 0, l, 2, 3, and 4. The t-Test showed that TO (Levamisole@ WSP), "1'2 ( 1.5 g), (2.0 g), and T4 (2.5 g) alt showed significant results. "19his means that using these higher dosages of papaya seeds were effective in eliminating the parasitic ova. Only TI (1.0 g dosage) did not show significant results. Using the dosage at this level only reduced the number of parasitic ova but did not totally eliminate
