Estanislao, DVM, MS.<br/><br/>A serological survey on the prevalence of antibody to Newcastle Disease (ND) virus among randomly selected population of pigeons and tree sparrows was carried out on ten towns in the province of Cavite, namely: Alfonso, Amadeo, Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo, Indang, Magallanes, Maragondon, Mendez, Naic, Silang and Ternate, through the use of Hemagglutination-Inhibition (HI) test. The main objectives of the study were to figure out the proportions (%) of the samples of pigeon and tree sparrow with positive (>log,3) and negative (<log,3) titer for ND; find out which species has obtained the highest and lowest titer for ND; and compare the seroprevalence (%) of ND between pigeons and tree sparrows per area. The results showed that there was no difference in ND titers between pigeons and tree sparrows and also among the ten towns in the province of Cavite. Both species had a zero (negative) antibody titer in the HI test. This study showed that the presence of antibody against ND virus was not detected among the selected population of pigeons and tree sparrows gathered from some areas in Cavite where poultry farms are raised. On the basis of these serologic findings, it is then possible that they are not carriers of ND virus in poultry farms at selected areas in Cavite.<br/>
