ANDAN, RICHARD GREGORY S. Performance of Broilers Supplemented with Nutraceutical Growth Promotant. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Agriculture, major in Animal Science, Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. April 2005, Adviser: Dr. Andrew T. Bunan.
A study was conducted to determine the performance of broilers as affected by supplementation of Orego-stimŽ in their drinking water. A total of 96 straight-run day-old Ross chicks was used in the study, which was grouped into four to represent the four treatments: T1-plain water, T2-0.1 ml Orego-stimŽ per liter of water, T3-0.2 ml Orego-stimŽ per liter of water, T4-0.3 ml Orego-stimŽ per liter of water. Significant differences (P< 0.05) were noted in the body weight at the 28th and 38th day of rearing. In feed consumption, significant differences (Pc 0.05) were noted at the 28th and 35th day. Insignificant differences (P> 0.05) were noted in the feed conversion efficiency. Mortality occurred only in Treatment 3.
