Amibilis (Variety Grandflora)" . Adviser: Mrs. Estrellita E . Morena
The study entitled "Utilization of Paper from Indigenous Materials and Foams as Solid Base in the Growth Performance of Phalaenopsis amibilis was conducted to
determine whether plastic foam and paper could be used as substitute for agar—agar in micro—propagation of Phalaenopsis amibilis and to determine the effect of plastic foam and paper base on the early vegetative growth of Phalaenopsis. Amibilis

Completely Randomized Design (CRD) was used to a total Of 5, 000 Phalaenopsis am ibilis protoeorm composed of 4 treatments, replicated 5 times. The treatments used in this study were T control (using agar); Tl using foam and locally manufactured paper from coconut husk; T2 using foam and locally manufactured paper from water lily; T3 using foam and locally manufactured paper from rice hull.
The study revealed that using foam and locally manufactured paper from rice hull lowers the rate of contamination However, micro—propagation using agar gave the longer, heavier, and bigger plants.
