An enterprise development project that was named “Mugget Souvenir” was conducted in Barangay Binambangan, Indang, Cavite on October 3, 2000 to February 3, 2001. It aimed to develop the entrepreneurial skills of students in preparation for deeper involvement in income generating enterprise. Likewise, it enables the students to apply their gained knowledge to actual business situation.
The project operated as a real enterprise covering all the function areas of management such as organization, production, marketing and finance.
An initial capital of P30,000.00 was equally shared by the entrepreneurs as funds for the four-month operation. Eighteen thousand four hundred five pesos was allocated for the purchase of equipment and raw materials. The remaining capital was used by the entrepreneur for emergency expenses.
During the four- months of operation the enterprise earned a total sales of P53,717.00. At the end of the operation, the enterprise gained a total net income of P18,846.00 based on the income statement of the enterprise. Profit to net sales or profit margin was 0.35 which means that for every one peso sales, there was a net income of 35 centavos.
