In order to determine developmental delay of children, nurses use developmental assessment tools. The interplay by the child and their physical social and emotional environment affect in the developmental outcome. The study aimed to: determine how the preschoolers socially interact with other children; assess their capabilities to utilize small groups of muscles of the hands and fingers; assess their capabilities to construct grammatically correct sentences; evaluate if they are able to utilize large groups of muscles like the arms, the shoulders, the legs and the torso; and to determine if there is significant difference in the growth and developmental level of preschoolers in public and private schools at Barangay Luciano, Trece Martirez City. This study helps in the professional growth of future nurses in the assessment of pediatric patients. Fifty six respondents studying at private and public schools in Barangay Luciano Trece Martires City were subjected to the Metro Manila Developmental Screening Test to determine their developmental level in relation with their age. Based on the findings of the study there was only a slight difference on developmental levels of preschoolers between the public and private schools in Trece Martirez City. However, it doesn't mean that one is better than the other. This slight difference doesn't affect the quality of education of public and private school.
