A three-month field study was conducted at Medicard Philippines, Inc., located at The World Center Building, 330 Senator Gil Puyat, Makati City. Specifically, it aimed to give some information about the organization and management of the company, services offered and plans of the company and identified some problems encountered by the firm and provide recommendations. The study focused on the activities and observations made by the student. Relevant information were obtained through personal interviews, reading, web search (www.medicardphils.com) and from company files.

The company profile, organization and management policies, plans and problems encountered by the firm were also included. Medicard Philippines, Incorporation was established on 1986 as one of the leading health maintenance organizations in the country. The medical services offered by the company are hospitalization, out-patient care, and emergency medical care, preventive healthcare and dental services. Numerous problems of the company were also identified such as incomplete information of the members, late renewal of its members and some of the important documents are missing. Another problem was too much workload prompting some of the employees to resign from the company.

During the conduct of the field study, the author observed that the organization and management of Medicard Philippines, Inc. was organized and most of the employees performed well in their given tasks. The staffs of the company were friendly and courteous. Conducting this field study provided the trainee a wonderful experience. A lot of knowledge was learned and it gave the author a valuable experience which enhanced her knowledge and skills towards work.
