The study was conducted at the SAKA Project at the Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. The study aimed to determine the possibility of off-season flower induction on rambutan and to evaluate the effects of the different chemicals as flower inducers.
Results showed that Treatments 2 and 3 with the Potassium Nitrate as chemical concentration exhibited no leaf shedding but burns were observed at the tips and edges of leaves however, the damages were so minimal which brought no serious effect to the plants.
On the other hand, Ethrel PGR as represented by Treatment 4 had a bad effect on the tree where it was sprayed.
In general, all the treatments promoted negative results. Zero flower was recorded in all treatments.
