ABSTRACT
BERMEJO, YOHJIN S. and DIMATULAC, MARIDEL D. Online Voting System for Faculty and Employee Organization of Cavite State University — Main Campus. Bachelor of Science in Information Technology. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. April 2014. Adviser: Ms. Gladys G. Perey.
This study was conducted to provide a better-quality system in the voting process of the Faculty Association (FA) and Non-Academic Employee Association (NAEA) of Cavite State University as well as to give solutions to the problems met by the employees of the university regarding the voting procedures. The system is capable of providing a fast and easy way of casting and tallying of votes, reports, and results. It is composed of five primary modules, namely account management module, validation module, record management, vote casting module, and the report module.
Software development methodology was used as a method to progressively complete the entire system. It is composed of several comprehensive phases. These are the analyze/planning phase, breakdown priority project phase, design module phase, code test phase, debug phase, integration of sub procedure and testing phase, integration of existing system phase, and test/implementation phase.
In developing the system, software tools were used such as PHP: Hypertext
Preprocessor (PHP) v5.3.8 as the main programming language, Hypertext Markup Language 4 (HTML), JavaScript, and My Structured Query Language v5.5.16 (MySQL), Adobe Dreamweaver CS6, Adobe Photoshop CS6, and Microsoft Word 2007.
The system was evaluated by Faculty Association (FA) and Non-Academic
Employee Association (NAEA) members including all the employees and election.
Committee. The criteria for the software evaluation were functionality, reliability,
usability, efficiency, maintainability, and portability. Based on the evaluation results, the software passed and was able to comply with all the requirements and met its objectives.
