This research was intended to evaluate the ecotourism and cultural preservation in the municipality of Maragondon, Cavite and to identify its implication to the socio-political aspects. Specifically it sought to (1) determine the existing cultural and ecotourism attractions in the Municipality of Maragondon Cavite; (2) figure out what are the programs and problem by the local government of Maragondon, Cavite in terms of landscape and beautification, expansion and renovation; and (3) to determine what are the implications of ecotourism in Maragondon,Cavite in terms of political and social aspects. This study used a descriptive-analytical method. The participants were asked to answer a survey questionnaire. Mean and standard deviation were used to determine the implications of ecotourism in social and political aspects. Based on the findings of the research, there were numerous existing ecotourisms and cultural heritage sites in the municipality of Maragondon, Cavite, such as the Ancestral House, Bonifacio Trial House, Maragondon Catholic Church, Eco-Park and the Bonifacio Shrine, House of Vicente Somoza, Mount Pico de Loro and St. Mercedes Beach, of which some of them considered popular and some failed to become a familiar site to the increasing number of tourists.

According to the head of tourism office in Maragondon, Cavite, when it comes to the maintenance and preservation of these ecotourism and cultural heritage sites, the local government, when deemed necessary, undertakes specific projects that focus on protecting and preserving each and every site, but such action is hampered by the lack of funds allocated for the aforementioned purposes. However, the local government always ensures that there are people assigned to protect the integrity and maintain the order of these sites. The findings of the study also showed that the three barangay have high level of implications in terms of social and political aspects that ecotourism has brought to their lives, and the active involvement of the local people and the local government can ensure the success of ecotourism in the Municipality of Maragondon, Cavite.
