BORMEDA, FRANCISCA R. and MOJICA, MERRY JANE E. Growth and Yield of Lettuce (Lactuca sativa L.) in Soilless Cultivation with Different Frequency Applications of Orgamin-DA. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Agriculture (Major in Crop Science). Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. April 2014. Adviser : Arnulfo C. Pascual, PhD.

The study was conducted at the Central Experiment Station of Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. It aimed to evaluate the effects of different frequency applications of Orgamin-DA on the growth and yield of lettuce grown under soilless cultivation. Specifically, this study aimed to: (1) determine the significant differences on the effects of different frequency applications of Orgamin-DA grown under soilless
cultivation in terms of (a) number of leaves, (b) plant height, and (c) weight of harvested plant; and (2) identify which among the different frequency applications of Orgamin-DA has the greatest impact on the growth and yield of lettuce. The experiment was laid out in Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with four treatments including the control and was replicated four times namely: To - Control or no application of Orgamin-DA,; T, - Orgamin-DA applied daily; Tz; - Orgamin-DA applied every seven (7) days and T3 - Orgamin-DA applied every fourteen (14) days.

Significant differences were observed in terms of the yield of lettuce grown with different frequency applications of Orgamin-DA. Lettuce with daily application gave the highest yield while the untreated plants gave the lowest yield. However, non-significant differences among the different frequency applications of Orgamin-DA were observed in terms of plant height and number of leaves of lettuce.
