CREMA, CHARMAE C. and PARANAS, KRISTINE ANN E. Design, Construction and Evaluation of a Magnetic Power Generator. Undergraduate Design Project. Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. April 2015. Adviser: Engr. Efren R. Rocillo.

The study was conducted from September 2014 to February 2015 at Cavite State University Indang, Cavite to design, construct and evaluate a magnetic power generator. Specifically, the study aimed to: l. design and construct the driving unit of the generator;2. determine the type and specification of the alternating current (ac) generator; 3. determine the specification of the gear box and control unit of the generator; 4. assemble and construct the magnetic power generator; 5. test and evaluate the magnetic power generator; and 6. conduct cost computation.

The driving unit was composed of 22 pieces of 1 inch by 1.25 inches N52 neodymium magnets which was placed on an aluminum sheet that was coupled to a gear box and generator using the stainless rod. The driving unit of the system produces a high speed and low torque which creates a low voltage rating and low power rating. It was observed that at the average speed of 6.57V the voltage and power rating were 6.57V and
2.42W respectively whereas the system has an efficiency of 22.95 percent. Based on the results, the researchers conclude that the power magnetic generator was not that efficiency as an alternative source of electricity and needs further development. Cost computation was also done to determine the total amount of the study. A total cost of P 26,505 was used in purchasing all the components used in the study as well as the miscellaneous expenses.
