The purpose of this study is to develop a Management Information System for Lapidario Elementary School in Trece Martires City that would provide proper management in their processes that will enhance the administration and monitoring of the different records and functions of the school. This will give them support in retrieval of data and information as well as it can be accessed by the users that simplify the work of the people in the school.
Feature Driven Development was the methodology used to develop the software. This methodology includes five (5) phases namely: developing overall model, building features list, plan by feature, design by feature, and build by feature. The system was developed using Apache for web server, MySQL for database, HTML, PHP, jQuery, Ajax and CSS as the development tools, and Sublime Text 3 as the integrated development environment. The design of the system was made using activity diagram, use case diagram and class diagram. The system was evaluated by 41 respondents and passed to series of testing which fulfill its functional requirements and objectives.
The system contains five (5) modules which underwent through series of testing namely: account management module, student information module, faculty management module, equipment management module, and report generation module. The student information module includes two (2) sub-modules which are: admission-sub module and quarterly performance assessment sub-module. The evaluation of the system got the overall mean of 4.2936 and the standard deviation of 0.5855 therefore proving the system to be effective in handling information of faculty, equipment’s and the increasing number of students, and can accurately generate needed reports.
