ALVAREZ, SHIELA L. and ESCOBER, JOSSEL B. Development of Management Information System for Cavite State University Child Development Center. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Information Technology. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. April 2016. Adviser: Ms. Vanessa G. Coronado.

The study was conducted from February 2015 to April 2016 at Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite to develop a management information system for the Cavite State University Child Development Center. Specifically, it aimed to: 1.identify the problems and requirements or needs by conducting an interview with the school personnel of the organization; 2. analyze the problems and requirements of the organization through the use of fishbone diagram; 3. design a management information system capable of addressing the identified problems to improve the existing system using Unified Modeling Language (UML) tools; 4. develop software using My Structured Query Language (MySQL) as database, Java as scripting language, Netbeans for programming application, iReport 5.5.0 for creation of reports, and Photoshop CS6 for the design and layout; and 5. test and evaluate the system based on the criteria of unit, integration, system, and user acceptance testing. The study was designed and developed for the institution to have a fast and modern way of processes and transactions. It has four levels of access: administrator, registrar, faculty, and cashier.

The proponents used iterative development methodology to develop the system which is composed of nine (9) phases namely: initial planning, iteration, requirements gathering, analysis and design, implementation, testing, iteration release, evaluation, and deployment. Furthermore, with the help of Netbeans 8.0, Java programming language. Report 5.5.0, MySQL, XAMPP, and Photoshop CS6 the system was developed. The system consisted of six (6) modules namely: account management module, enrollment module, faculty profile management module. grades management module, payment management module, and report generation module. The evaluation results based on ISO 9126 proved that the system passed in all specifications. The system satisfied all the requirements and successfully met its objectives.
