Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. December, 2018. Adviser: Engr. Emeline C. Guevarra. The main objective of the study was to develop a remotely-monitored health status wristband. Specifically, it aimed to: design and modification of a standard wristband; integration of the microcontroller, digital thermometer, pulse oximeter, and OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diode) display; develop the system software and the database management system; test and evaluate the device according to accuracy of the analysis, and functionality of the system and device; and conduct a cost computation. The study was conducted to improve upon existing wearable devices, which are costly or cannot be used for Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM). The device developed enables more people to monitor their own health and receive assistance from health care providers through RPM technology. It will improve the user's experiences, while reducing costs and freeing up capacity in health facilities for more acute cases. Results of the evaluation showed that the accuracy of the heart rate, oxygen saturation and body temperature measurement shows no significant difference when compared with a commercially available pulse oximeter and digital thermometer. The system was said to be functional, usable, and safe to use. The study was proven effective on its capability to meet its objectives. The remotely monitored health-status wristband had a total cost of P 5,246.00.
