This study entitled "An Analysis of The Role of LADLAD Organization In The Promotion of The Welfare And Rights of LGBT". Specifically the study aimed to (1) to determine the nature of LADLAD as an organization; (2) to determine the struggles and challenges that LADLAD organization experienced during their formative years and how do they defend and safeguard their rights as a member of LADLAD; (3) to determine the programs being implemented by LADLAD Organization. How they apply these programs in performing their civil duties and the plans and strategies that they do to make these programs successful; Lastly (4) is to determine the effects of these program in the welfare, rights and lives of the LGBT, The participants in this research were the key-informant persons in LADLAD, Mr. Adelo D. Macaldo, Board of trustee and Media Relations Officer and Mr. Edgar Ereneo S. Adelante, a former member of LADLAD organization and were limited only with them and also a member of LGBT: one (1) lesbian, one (1) gay, one (1) bisexual and one (1) transgender under the age 18 and above. Based on the result of the study, the researcher concludes that first the nature of LADLAD is to protect and uplift the right of LGBT community. It is their purpose to make sure that every LGBT in the Philippines are treated equally and with utmost respect.
Second, the challenges and struggles that the organization experienced were discrimination especially by the church, the lack of recognition in some places and financially unstable. After they lose, financial crisis became their main challenge. Third, after the organization lose on the election it became more difficult for them to have programs that can benefit the LGBT. Thus, most of the LGBTs were not aware of LADLAD Organization, there are some of them that may have heard of it but no further information of when it started, who the founder and members is and how it works. Then lastly, since the organization does not have an existing program there is no effect to the welfare, rights and lives of LGBTs.
