This thesis deals with European Free Trade Association (EFTA) and its significance in current world. The author has chosen some important and interesting aspects of functioning of EFTA, and he tries to analyze them in the thesis. The introduction of this paper is devoted to the theory of economic integration in general and to different approaches towards that integration. There is also mentioned trade creation and trade diversion concept. In the following section the history of EFTA is examined and the emphasis is placed on relations of EFTA with European Communities. Opportunity is defined as a set of circumstances that makes it possible to do something, Challenge is defines as a task or situation to test someone's abilities. This study discusses about the Opportunities and Challenges of European Free Trade (EFTA) Association in Philippines' Perspective. Data gathered was through the internet, libraries, articles, and government agencies. The researchers tackled about the trading agreements of the Philippine and the EFTA states, the Trading Status of the Philippines, the Opportunities that the Filipino Citizens may have and Challenges that the Philippines may face after the Agreement. The study of European Free Trade Agreement is purely based on secondary data and all the information was available within the internet and different libraries in the form of records. The scope of the study is limited up to the availability of the official records and information provided by the institutions.
