DELA CRUZ, MARK LOUIE M., and LARIOSA, ZANDREX V. Development of an Automated Carbonizer. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. December 2018. Adviser: Ms. Poinsettia A. Vida.
A study was conducted to develop an automated carbonizer. The study aimed to design and construct the controller circuit for the automated carbonizer; design and fabricate the machine; develop a software for the operation of the system; test and evaluate the system using the following parameters: speed, output quality, and quantity; and conduct a cost benefit analysis of the system. Input dispensing, carbonizing and output dispensing are the major processes developed in the system.
Results of the evaluation showed that the speed of the automated process was considerably faster than the manual process. The quality and quantity of the output produced were acceptable based on a visual inspection done to the produced output of the carbonizer.
The automation of the machine can contribute to a local producer of charcoal. It reduced the human work and time consumed in carbonizing and transferring the material from the carbonizing drum. With the help of automation, it would be advantageous in terms of the quality of its output, produce a greater quantity and minimize human intervention and the time consumed in the manual process.
The total cost of the design project was P 64,190.00
