The study was conducted to provide a computerized personality assessment examination for the freshmen and transferee students of Cavite State University for the Office of the Student Affairs with the following objectives; to technologically enhance the way of personality assessment examination, provide secured and organized student records, and make the evaluation of the examination results much faster and accurate. This would allow the Office of the Student Affairs to guide the students of CvSU to become better individuals.
The system provides functionalities that can help the employees of the Office of the Student Affairs in obtaining a secured and organized student record by allowing the students register their records through the software. The system also makes use of a computer algorithm which is the Knuth-Morris-Pratt algorithm to help generate a much faster and accurate results for the examination which are shown in graphical and descriptive representations. The Fourth Generation Technique (4GT) with four phases was used for the development of the study. These were: Requirement Gathering, followed by Design Strategy, then the Implementation using Fourth Generation Language (4GL) and Testing. Visual Basic 6.0 was used by the researchers as the programming language; Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express Edition was utilized as the database for the data storage and Microsoft Word for the documentation of the study. The system was evaluated by the respondents based on the given criteria: User-Friendliness, Reliability, Consistency, Accuracy and Efficiency. Evaluators were composed of psychology instructors and freshmen students of Cavite State University. The system passed all the given criteria in evaluation and met all the targeted features and functionality as well as the requirements and its objectives.
