Olabe. <br/>Ninety (90) straight-run day-old broiler chicks were used in a study to determine which traditional brooding system was most effective, practical and economical. Results showed that chicks brooded using incandescent bulb and charcoal gained the highest body weight (P < 0.01). There were no differences (P > 0.05) in feed consumption after brooding. Livability was lowest in birds brooded using kerosene lamp. Average brooding temperature was similar in all<br/>
