The study "Response of Black Pepper Stem Cuttings To Different Concentrations of Indole Acetic Acid (IAA)" was conducted at the Plantation Nursery of the Crop Science Department, Cavite State University, to determine the rooting response of black pepper stem cuttings to different concentrations of Indole Acetic Acid (IAA) that would give the best result to black pepper stem cuttings.
The black pepper stem cuttings were placed under four treatments and four replications using Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD). Three different levels of rooting hormones were used: (1) 150 ppm IAA, (2) 200 ppm IAA, and (3) 250 ppm IAA.
Results showed that there were significant differences on the percentage survival, number of roots per cutting four weeks after planting and the average length of shoots per cutting four weeks after planting.
Based on the results of the study, the use of 250 ppm of IAA is recommended in propagating black pepper stem cuttings.
