The purpose of this study was to determine the effects of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program to the standard of living of beneficiaries in selected areas of Cavite. Another aim was to determine the amount of cash grant that participants receive from the program and how the beneficiaries receive the cash grant.

This study utilized the descriptive method, with the interview schedule derived from the DSWD’s Household Assessment Form (HAF) and the Social Welfare Indicator as the main instrument in gathering the necessary data. The participants of the study were 150 beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program in Tagaytay City, General Mariano Alvarez and Alfonso Cavite. According to DSWD, the said areas have been part of the program since 2010 under Set 3-B of the program.

The program helped improve the beneficiaries’ over-all budget to make up for other expenses like utility bills and household needs and helped in improve the knowledge and awareness of the beneficiaries in family values formation (e.g. moral values, social responsibility, budget handling) as well but the program had no direct effect to the standard of living of the beneficiaries since the program focusing only on human capital investment and value formation in poor households. The participants perceived that there were improvements in their standard of living even if they were still classified as poor by the standards of NSCB and World Bank.
