MADRIAGA, MA. CRISTINA P, RAMOS, LOVELY ANN N, AND REGIS, REGLE ANN T. Antifungal Potential of Different Extracts of Radish (Raphanus sativus L.) Parts Against Aspergillus flavus and Penicillium sp. Undergraduate Thesis Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology, Cavite State University Indang, Cavite. November 2015. Adviser. Dr. Adelaida E. Sangalang.
The study entitled "Antifungal Potential of Different Extracts of Radish (Raphanus sativus L.) Parts against Aspergillusflavus and Penicillium sp. "was conducted to determine the antifungal potential of different parts of radish using three types of extraction.
Fresh, heavy, and ripe radishes were used in the experiment. The peel, flesh, leaves and seed of Radish were cut into thin portion and were dried in room temperature without direct sunlight for 30 days. Solvent, aqueous and juice extracts were prepared and were tested for antifungal activity using well diffusion plate method. Itraconazole and distilled water were served as positive and negative controls respectively. Zone of inhibition was measured after 48 hours of incubation.
Results revealed that solvent aqueous, and juice extract of dried radish peel, flesh, leaves and seeds, has no antifungal potential against Aspergillus flavus and Penicillium sp.
