Exposure and :Awareness on National Disaster Risk Reduction (NDRRMC)'s EMERGENCY ALERT WARNING MESSAGE AND ITS EFFECTIVENESS TOWARDS DISASTER PREPAREDNESS OF SELECTED HOUSEHOLDS IN BRGY. LIGTONC, ROSARIO, CAVITE. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Arts in Journalism. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. June 2019. Adviser: Prof. Racquel G. Agustin. The study was conducted from August 2018 to June 2019 in Brgy.Ligtong, Rosario, Cavite with 192 heads of households as the participants of the study. The study aimed to identify the level of exposure of the selected participants to NDRRMC's emergency alert warning message, level of awareness on the content of the message, level of preparedness after they have received the message, significant relationship between the exposure and their awareness, their exposure to the message and effectiveness to disaster preparedness, and their awareness on the content and effectiveness to disaster preparedness. The study was a descriptive survey method that used stratified sampling in identifying the participants. The study showed that majority of the selected heads of households were moderately exposed to the emergency alert warning message because most of them turned on their cell broadcast feature to receive the alerts and were moderately aware on the content of the alert. Moreover, they were highly prepared towards the disaster after they have received the advisory. Also, it was revealed that there was a significant relationship between exposure to the emergency alert warning message and awareness on the content, exposure and their disaster preparedness after they received the message, and awareness on the content and disaster preparedness.
