Abstract: ABSTRACT LACHICA, MARICEL OFREN, Hitachi Industrial Machinery Phils. Corp. FCIE Langkaan Dasmarifias, Cavite, Undergraduate Field Study, Bachelor of Science in Business Management major in Marketing, Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. Adviser: Mr. Roderick Rupido. A three-month field study was conducted to enable the student to apply the gained knowledge in business management to actual experiences and real-life working situations. Specifically, it aimed to know the different practices and operations of Hitachi such as production, financing and marketing aspects and other activities in the firm; to be familiar with the marketing environment of HIMAP; apply the knowledge gained in classroom such as the principles of the firm management, firm accounting and record keeping; and identify the existing problems of the firm and recommend feasible solutions to solve these problems. Data gathering was done through observations, research, and interviews. Hitachi Industrial Machinery Philippines Corporation offered quality products like chiller through the utilization of the most modern facilities. The company implements quality control measures to ensure the quality of the products. Eighty percent of the firm's product was distributed to international market and only 20 percent were sold locally. The importers Of their products are Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Korea, Taiwan and China. On the other hand, the local customers of the company are new investment projects like mall, hospitals and factories. Hitachi Industrial Machinery Philippines Corporation promotes its products by giving in-depth presentation on the product's superiority against competitors. It also gives complete product documentation such as sale and service manual/ guidebook, standard pricing sheet, product technological comparison and evaluation of the product 'Ihe study focused on the activities and experiences of the author in the firm. She was assigned at the human resources department, marketing information system, finance and accounting department, and clinic of the firm Ihe conduct of this field study developed the abilities and skills of the students who undergo this activity since Ø1ey are exposed to actual firm management . The company as well as the school gave them a clearer understanding of how Finn managers perform the activities in the firm old apply the knowledge gained in the classroom such as the principles of the firm management, basic accounting, and record keeping. It also helped develop the students communication skills and the self-confidence of the student
