Abstract: ATIENZA, RODELIO B. "Performance Evaluation of Diesel Fuel Economizer". Bachelor of Industrial Technology, Major in Automotive Technology. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. April 2007. Adviser: Mr. Cesar C. Carriaga. The Performance Evaluation of Diesel Fuel Economizer was conducted in Indang, Cavite to Calatagan, Batangas and Balayan, Batangas on January 10 to 21, 2007. The study was conducted to determine the amount of fuel saved using Diesel Fuel Economizer. The fuel economizer used was installed in the car engine compartment on top of intake manifold. During the first trial with a distance of 160km., 10.12Iiters of diesel fuel was consumed, with an average speed of 39.90km/hr. and traveled time of 4:0 hrs. With the fuel economizer installed. Without the diesel fuel economizer and covering the same distance, fuel consumed was 10.321iters. The average speed was 49.08km/hr. and traveled time of 3:26hrs. The second trial covered a distance of 135km. With diesel fuel economizer installed, the fuel consumed was 7.281iters. The average speed was 63.68km/hr. and traveled time of 2:12hrs. Without the fuel economizer, the fuel consumed was 7.461iters, with an average speed of 66.18km/hr. and traveled time of 2:04hrs. Based on the performance of diesel fuel economizer, it can saved 2.14% of fuel.
