Leadership Styles and Work Ethics of Barangay Captains and Attitudes of Residents from Selected Barangays in Indang, Cavite: Implications to Community Development, Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Psychology. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. April 2007, Adviser: Renato T. Agdalpen This study aimed to determine the relationship between the leadership styles and work ethics of barangay captains to resident's attitude on community development. This study aimed to identify the demographic profile of the respondents; find out the dominant leadership style and classify the work ethics of the barangay captain respondents; identify the attitude of the resident respondents; and to examine the extent of the community development program in the community. Descriptive method was utilized in this study. Respondents were gathered using Simple Random Sampling technique from different barangays in Indang, Cavite. Respondents were 18 barangay captains and 360 residents ages 15 years old and above. Based on the study, the researcher has come up with the findings that, leadership style and work ethics of barangay captain does not affect the resident's attitude, and the factors which are responsible for the development of community was not the barangay captains leadership style rather it is the barangay captains leadership style and resident's attitude. It also shows that the implementation of the community development programs in Indang, Cavite has much extent. As a proposition, the researcher recommends that as a part of society, people should more aware about the development of their community. The researcher believes that through this study she could be able to add knowledge in the field of Psychology, whereas this study would be able to guide future researchers.
