This study used the descriptive correlational design that determined the most experienced role, the most challenge encountered, and the most employed coping mechanism of single parents in selected barangays in Dasmarifias City, Cavite. The simple random sampling and the fishbowl method were the sampling techniques that were used in the study. It is a subset of a statistical population in which each member of the subset has an equal probability of being chosen. The participants of the study were the single parents who are separated, annulled, unmarried, and abandoned but were not living with another partner and have been single parents for two years and above, ages 20 to 34 years old and in any gender. They have a number of children of 2 to 5 ages 2 and above. The participants were all bona fide residents of the selected barangays namely: Brgy. Paliparan III and Brgy. Salawag in Dasmarifias City, Cavite. The results revealed that the most experienced role of the participants was the nurturer followed by caregiver, then provider, and teacher. The most encountered challenge of the participants was the emotional followed by financial, then psychological, and social challenge. The most employed coping mechanism of the participants was the problem-focused coping followed by emotion-focused coping mechanism. It was also found out that there were significant relationships between the roles and challenges encountered, roles and coping mechanisms, and challenges encountered and coping mechanisms of single parents.
