This study was conducted from March 2018 to June 2018 in Cavite State University-
Main, Indang. This study traced the employment status of the Bachelor of Arts in Journalism
graduates of the Cavite State University from 2016 to 2018. Specifically, it aimed to determine
the following: the demographic profile, the employment profile, and the motivations of Bachelor
of Arts in Journalism graduates for choosing their present career.
Survey questionnaires were sent via Facebook Messenger, Gmail and in-
person distribution. Names of the graduates were obtained using the given list of graduates
from the CvSU Registrar.
A total of 101 graduates responded to the tracer study. The data revealed that a
considerable number of the surveyed respondents were practitioners in communication industry,
business processing outsourcing industry and marketing industry, while the rest of the
respondents excelled in other fields. It was concluded that most of the participants were single,
female, had no Latin honors received, and non-takers of any professional examination. Also,
majority of the participants are currently employed in private agencies with regular position.
However, majority of the participants revealed that their jobs were not related to the degree —
AB Journalism and their overall training were slightly useful and applicable in their job.
