Undergraduate Thesis Bachelor of Arts in Journalism. Cavite State University, Indanff„ Cavite. June 2019. Adviser: Ms. Ruby A. Manaig. The study was conducted from December 2018 to February 2019 to find out the level of communicative competence of Cavite State University security personnel as perceived by selected community members. Specifically, it aimed to identify the level of linguistic competence, sociolinguistic competence, discourse competence, and strategic competence of CvSU security personnel as perceived by the selected members of the community. Descriptive research was used with random sampling employed to come up with a total of 300 participants including 100 teaching staff, 100 non-teaching staff and 100 students. Based on the data gathered, the results showed that Cavite State University security personnel were highly competent in all the components of communicative competence as perceived by the community members.
