Abstract: PHILIP ANDREW R. ERSANDO AND DEN MARK M. RODIS. Development of Management Information System for Indang Day Care Centers. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Information Technology. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. March 2013. Adviser: Ms. Vanessa G. Coronado. The study was conducted to develop a MIS that can improve the information storage, enrollment procedure, and generation of reports in the Indang Day Care Centers. The general objective of the study was to develop a management information system for Indang Day Care Centers. Specifically, it aims to: l.identify the problems within the organization through interview, site visit, and construction of fishbone diagram; 2.analyze the information gathered and plan a solution to the problem using use case diagram; 3.design a system based on the needs of the organization using iterative model: 4.develop a system using a scripting language like HTML, PHP, and MySQL for the database; and, 5.evaluate the system by testing the program and letting the user determine its quality through unit testing, integration testing, and system testing. The MIS was developed using the methodology called Iterative Project Development that involved the following phases: planning, requirements, analysis, design, program coding, test, and evaluation. The system was evaluated using the following criteria; functionality, reliability, usability, efficiency, maintainability, portability, and output. The system passed the evaluation and met the expected output. Based on the result, the MIS performed excellently on most of its functions. The system proved to be helpful in the operations of the organization, as it worked out some of its difficulties. It reduced the time consuming tasks of different users like daycare workers, guardians of children, registrar, and the administration.
